The twins in Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining were inspired by a real pair of twins originally photographed by the famous American photographer Diane Arbus. Arbus’s photograph was the root source of inspiration for the twins in the film lending to Kubrick’s chilling iconic depiction of them.

In my Sociology class, we had to write every hurtful word we’ve ever been called on a sticky note and then stick it to our body. We then went around and took them off of each other. Most of us in tears…this is the aftermath.
